Raabe Survives a Daytime Run at

Wouldn’t
it be great if things always worked-out exactly as you’d planned?
With 71
teams showing-up, Raabe knew just cracking the starting line-up for the 30 lap
main event would be tough. Especially
when track officials announced that less than 35 cars would take the green flag.
The driver of the Scott Industrial Services/TyRoute Communications-Telus/Kingston
Hyundai/Kingston RV Centre/Waste Management/Brunet Plumbing/Kwik Load Products/McColman
Media/Len Corcoran Excavating #01 drew a spot in the 3rd qualifying
heat – a race that would also include his main championship rival, Dan Wiesner
– but only the top 3 finishers would earn a spot in the main event.
Chris Raabe finished 3rd, just behind Wiesner and Matt
Billings who is also a regular runner at Brockville Ontario Speedway.
Before the
sportsman feature was to take to the track, the intermittent showers that had
been falling through the late evening hours caused Fulton Speedway officials to
adjust the night’s schedule. The
Mr. DIRTcar pro stock race was shortened to 22 laps, while the sportsman and
street stock features were put over until Saturday, October 4th
start.
Chris
Raabe, the current sportsman modified championship series points leader took the
green from a 17th place starting spot, while Wiesner luckily selected
the pole position in the pre-race draw. On
the opposite end of the scale, Greg Panunte of
Wet track
